History

Herman Street Public School opened its doors to students in 1966 in the original building of 14,241.98 square feet.  The second addition officially opened May 28, 1974 by Dr. J.O. Foohey Chairman for the Board 1971-1972. Two more additions took place in 1980 and 2006.  The present office was once the school library.  Herman Street currently boasts a population of approximately 400 students.  The school remains very community-minded, friendly and welcoming.
